Saminu Abdul Rasheed Wins 100m Gold at the 27th GUSA Games
The University of Ghana sprint star, Saminu Abdul Rasheed, has won gold in the 100m men final at the ongoing 27th Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games been hosted by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. He made a time of 10.26 seconds winning the University of Ghana its first gold medal at the Games.

Saminu who recently represented Ghana at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England shared his thoughts on the race.
“I am excited to follow in the footsteps of my compatriot Benjamin Azamati in this event at the GUSA level. Winning gold and making my personal best as well is a dream come true. I had a tough test from Agerh of UDS and my team mate Solomon. I will continue to work hard to achieve my target of sub 10.”
Solomon Hammond also won bronze for UG with a time of 10.48 seconds in the same event.
