After successfully defending the World Public Speaking Trophy for two consecutive times in 2019 and 2020, the University of Ghana Debate Society made history again. UG was one of the first African teams to make it to the finals of the highest debating stage in the world during the 43rd World Universities Debating Championship (WUDC) hosted by Rey Juan Carlos University, Madrid, Spain from 26th December, 2022 to 4th January 2023.

Mr. Elisha Owusu Akyaw and Ms. Zempare Wesoamo will represent the University of Ghana (UG) at the 2023 World Universities Debate Championship (WUDC) to be hosted by Rey Juan Carlos University, Madrid, Spain from 26^th December, 2022 to 4^th January, 2023.

University of Ghana Tennis prodigy and Ghana’s number four seed, Vanessa Kabukie Akuaku, has won silver medal at the Mansa Gold Holiday Tennis Tournament held at the Accra Lawn Tennis Club from 12^th to 17^th December, 2022.

The aim was to afford the professional women tennis players in the country more competitive games to keep them sharp and ready for future international competitions.

The University of Ghana (UG) Debate Society has won three gold and bronze medals at the just ended Pan African Universities Debate Championship (PAUDC) hosted by the Strathmore University, Nairobi, Kenya, from 8^th to 15^th December, 2022.

The University of Ghana Debate Society will make its eighth appearance at the 2022 Pan African Universities Debate Championship to be hosted by the Strathmore University, Nairobi, Kenya from 8^th to 15^th December, 2022.

The University of Ghana Athletics Team (track and field) topped the athletics medal table at the 27^th Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games being held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor with responsibility for Academic and Student Affairs and Chairperson of the Sports Advisory Board of the University of Ghana, Professor Gordon A. Awandare, has presented cartons of bottled water and assorted drinks to student athletes representing the University of Ghana (UG) at the 27th Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games being held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. 

The University of Ghana sprint star, Saminu Abdul Rasheed, has won gold in the 100m men final at the ongoing 27th Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games been hosted by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. He made a time of 10.26 seconds winning the University of Ghana its first gold medal at the Games.

Participating universities and dignitaries at the 27^th GUSA Games were thrilled with the beautiful opening ceremony of the 27^th Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games at the Paa Joe Stadium, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi.
