UG Wins Twelve Medals At National Athletics Championship
UG's Grace Obuor won gold in 400 metres
The University of Ghana Athletics Team (Track and Field) won a total of twelve medals in nine events during the Ghana Athletics Association Open Championship held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi.
The twelve medals were made up of three (3) gold, three (3) silver and six (6) bronze.

2022 Inter-Hall Games Ends on a High
The 2022 Inter-Hall Games organised by the University of Ghana Sports Directorate has come to an end with very exciting performances from the participating Halls. The Halls participated in Badminton, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Football, Goalball, Handball, Hockey, Netball, Table Tennis, Tennis and Volleyball.

The University of Ghana Debate Society has won the 2022 Heritage Month Debate Championship after beating Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and Pentecost University.
University of Ghana Debate Society wins Inter-School Spring Debate Championship
The University of Ghana Debate Society has been crowned champions of the maiden Inter-School Spring Debate Championship. The Championship which was organised and hosted by the Student Executive Council of the Lancaster University Ghana was their first debate activity as a Debate Society.
African Union Hall crowned Champions in Freshers Debate Championship
African Union Hall have been crowned champions of the 2022 Inter-Hall Freshmen Debate Championship. Joel Aboagye and Afi Emenyo Nutakor representing African Union in the Debate Category distinguished themselves among their peers throughout the Championship to win the coveted trophy.
Suspension of 2022 Inter-Hall Games
The Management of the Sports Directorate wishes to inform the University community that the ongoing Inter-Hall Games is suspended with immediate effect. This has become necessary due to the incident that took place before, during and after the scheduled Volleyball match between Mensah Sarbah Hall and Commonwealth Hall yesterday Saturday, March 5, 2022.

The University of Ghana Inter-Hall Games makes a return after two years break due to restrictions imposed by government on team sports, following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2021/2022 Inter-Hall Games starts from 2nd to 15th March, 2022.

The University of Ghana Team for Accra 2023 Games under the auspices of University Management has engaged relevant stakeholders of the University Community in an information-sharing session on the proposed facilities to be upgraded and used for the 13th African Games dubbed Accra 2023. The African Games is scheduled for August/September 2023.

The Minister for Youth and Sports Joins Union Club to Support UG Athletes
The Union Club has donated a cheque of Seven Thousand Five Hundred and Eighty Four Ghana Cedis (GH¢7,584.00) to the University of Ghana Sport Fund (UG-SF) to support student athletes. The Club made up of UG alumni and others from corporate Ghana, mainly seek for the basic keep fit needs of its members and use the opportunity for networking.
