UG Sports Directorate Organises Orientation for Student Sports Council
The Sports Directorate has organised an orientation for members of the University of Ghana Student Sports Council. The forum gave Council members an insight into the organisation of sports on campus, the activities of the Directorate and how relevant they are in the chain.
The Sports Council is made up of Sports Secretaries from all the Halls of Residence, School Team Captains and the Executives of the Council.
Closure of Swimming Pool
Following the press statement by University Management on the death of a Level 100 male student at the University of Ghana Sports Directorate Swimming Pool on Saturday, 29th January, 2022, Management of the Sports Directorate wishes to inform the University Community and the public that the swimming pool is closed until further notice.

UG Athletics Team Set National Record
The University of Ghana male 4x100m Team has set a national record of 39.75 seconds in the maiden Junior Olympics held at the Paa Joe Stadium, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi.

UG Student Sports Council Executives Sworn Into Office
The newly elected executives of the University of Ghana Student Sports Council have been sworn into office by the Director of Sports, Dr. Bella Bello Bitugu.
The swearing in ceremony took place at the Mensah Sarbah Dining Hall during a welcome meeting between Management and Staff of the Sports Directorate, and student athletes who are camping ahead of the 27th Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games to be held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi in April 2022.
National Debate Champions To Participate In PAUDC
The University of Ghana Debate Society, National Champions of the 2021 Ghana Universities Debate Championship, will participate in this year’s Pan-African Universities Debate Championship to be hosted by the University of Botswana Debate Masters Association.
The Championship which is to be hosted virtually because of the COVID-9 pandemic will come off from 9th to 14th December 2021.
University of Ghana to Commence Camping Ahead of 27th GUSA Games
The Sports Directorate will commence camping for athletes of the University from 28th November to 19th December 2021 in preparation for the 27th Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games to be hosted by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi in April 2022.
