UG Track And Field Team to Participate in GAA National Championship

The University of Ghana Track and Field Team will participate in the Ghana Athletics Association Invitational Championship at the Cape Coast Stadium on Thursday, 30^th June and Friday, 1^st July, 2022.

The Championship will seek to give athletes based in Ghana the last window to qualify for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England. Team UG Track and Field Team will be made up of nine (9) athletes competing for qualification in High Jump, Shot Put, Discus, Javelin, 100m, 200m and 400m.

So far, University of Ghana’s 100m athlete Saminu Abdul Rasheed has been selected as part of Ghana’s 4x100m Relay Team for the Commonwealth Games from 28^th July to 8^th August, 2022. 

The Team will be accompanied by two (2) Coaches and other officials of the Sports Directorate.
